10 Facts about "Bakra eid" in Pakistan.


10. Joys of kids roaming around the streets with their "Janwar".

A week from eid you will start hearing noises of children running down the streets with their goats and cows which shows that eid is on the go.

9.Gathering of a huge crowd whenever a "Vera" is unloading.
Whenever a vehicle carrying a cow approaches it's destination it brings along a lot of unknown faces from the nearby localities who are just their to watch the cow unload as they all are expecting the cow to be out of control and just run away so that they can make a news out of it and talk of it for days
"Salman uncle ka vera bhaag gaya yar!!".

8.''Kiska Janwar sabse phenga".
It is not eid if you do not hear people discussing the price of their animal and comparing it with that of the other and this not only happen when you enter your society even when you are leaving the mandi with the animal people their will be asking "Han bhai! kitne ka mila?"

7.Running after butchers before and on eid day.
 Even if you have bought a beautiful animal at a reasonable amount, more work is yet to be done and that is to book a butcher to slaughter your animal on the eid day.

6.Most of the meat goes to the fridge.
No matter what, a big part of the meat is still going to your fridge that's why the sales of deep freezers before the eid are on a high.


5.Breakfast of "Kaleji" on eid day.
Say it a tradition or a trend, for the past many years you''ll only eat Kaleji for the breakfast on the eid day even if you have to wait till noon.



4.Run down the street to catch a big camel sacrifice.
Eid is incomplete if you haven't witness the slaughter of a camel out in the streets.



3.Consumption of massive meat-filled lunch, dinner for several days.
Once the fridges are again fully loaded with the meat you"ll hardly find any dish without the addition of meat in it.



2."It's time for the BBQ".
It"ll not be wrong if I say that Eid-ul-Fitr is not Choti eid without the "Eidi" and Eid-ul-Azha is not the Bari eid without a BBQ hangout with friends and family.

1. Falling ill due to excess consumption.
After a week full of spicy meals and BBQ's it's time for you to see a doctor so that you can carry on eating all the meat.
